Jen's Cake

So, on New Years Eve we celebrated the long awaited return of our SIL, Sean-Paul's wife Jen.

For those who don't know the story, I will sum it up quickly, for those who do, skip to the next paragraph! Sean-Paul and Jen got engaged early last spring. The had a wedding planned for late May. Jen is from Canada, and while she had lived here for nearly 3 years, she was only here on work and student Visas. Since the rule is, once she gets married she cannot leave the US for 1 year they decided to have a pre-wedding reception in Canada a couple weeks before the wedding. So, they go there, have a lovely reception, drive home only to be stopped at the border and be turned away. Since Jen's school had just ended and she recently left her job they wouldn't let her through. They went back to Calgary and got married a couple days later. After 8 months of filing paper work and waiting...LOTS of waiting she came home a couple days before Christmas!!!!

So, back to New Years Eve, we put up red white and blue balloons and streamers and Frank came up with the idea for this cake...AND he decorated it on his own! YES! Frank is now a cake decorator! LOL!!!! (I have blocked out her last name and year of birth for privacy reasons.) She LOVED the cake and we had a great time.

Nana Outfit

Emma is sad in these pics because she thought Christmas was over...but it wasn't! We were just going to Uncle Neal's and Aunt Becky's house for MORE FUN! LOL!!!

This is hands down the cutest sweater Emma has ever owned, it's hard to see it well in the pictures, so just trust me.

Thanksgiving Table

The pictures didn't turn out well...sorry, but I worked really hard on this table and Frank worked REALLY hard on the food (food not pictured, sorry.)

tag

I've been tagged by Aunt Jean.

Here are the Rules:

1. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself
4. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog.

And here are my 7 weird things...

1- I am a great singer, but I won't sing in front of ANYONE. Frank hasn't heard me sing in 7 or 8 years. I am far to sensitive to criticism about it...I'd rather hide my talent than have it commented on!

2-It takes me 2+ hours to fall asleep. It's a long ritual that cannot be interrupted, other wise I cannot fall asleep. Needless to say I am a very tired person all of the time.

3-I am the fix-it person of the house. I own power tools, I fix things that break, I build toys and furniture we purchase, I do it all. (Frank is the cook...LOL)

4-I haven't slept in the same bed as my husband in over 2 years...because of his snoring and my picky sleep habits. (We are working towards sleeping in the same bed again though, his snoring has greatly improved and I simply have to become less picky about sleep.)

5-I LOVE LOVE LOVE tofu.

6-I get my hair cut once every 18 months or so. (I'm lazy and I hate those big mirrors at the salon.)

7-I will sometimes watch wrestling to make fun of it...(alone) HAHAHAHAHA
