Thanksgiving Table
tag
I've been tagged by Aunt Jean.
Here are the Rules:
1. Link to the person’s blog who tagged you.
2. Post these rules on your blog.
3. List seven random and/or weird facts about yourself
4. Tag seven random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
5. Let each person know that they have been tagged by posting a comment on their blog.
And here are my 7 weird things...
1- I am a great singer, but I won't sing in front of ANYONE. Frank hasn't heard me sing in 7 or 8 years. I am far to sensitive to criticism about it...I'd rather hide my talent than have it commented on!
2-It takes me 2+ hours to fall asleep. It's a long ritual that cannot be interrupted, other wise I cannot fall asleep. Needless to say I am a very tired person all of the time.
3-I am the fix-it person of the house. I own power tools, I fix things that break, I build toys and furniture we purchase, I do it all. (Frank is the cook...LOL)
4-I haven't slept in the same bed as my husband in over 2 years...because of his snoring and my picky sleep habits. (We are working towards sleeping in the same bed again though, his snoring has greatly improved and I simply have to become less picky about sleep.)
5-I LOVE LOVE LOVE tofu.
6-I get my hair cut once every 18 months or so. (I'm lazy and I hate those big mirrors at the salon.)
7-I will sometimes watch wrestling to make fun of it...(alone) HAHAHAHAHA

Sorry for lack of anything...
I have been really sick again. I can't seem to kick what ever miserable thing I have. The things I have coming your way soon. Emma singing Jingle Belles. Pics of my Christmas tree. Pics of our Thanksgiving table. And pics of my outdoor lights.
It snowed yesterday. 4 years in a row now it snows the day after I finish my out door lights and decorating.
I went to Ikea for the first time a few days ago...that store is amazing and HUGE.
Other than that everything has been pretty much BORING around here.

Christmas Decorations (so far)
I got out my Christmas stuff last week. I wanted to get it all up before Thanksgiving, because we are having Thanksgiving at our apartment this year and I thought it would be a nice touch. Anyway, here is what I have so far. I don't know the best settings to take pictures of lights, so, I did my best.

We are all just so grown up now, my brothers and I. Sometimes it freaks me out.
Sean-Paul just left for New Jersey for a business conference. MY LITTLE BROTHER...the guy I used to tackle when he was smaller than me, the guy I used to play pranks on, the little boy who used to torture my barbie dolls just to piss me off...he's flying to a business conference! HOW DID THAT HAPPEN!?!?! LOL!
My even littler brother (26) is a daddy, has a house and a wife and step kids...how can this be? He used to crawl around the floor and meow because I wanted a cat and he wanted to make his big sister laugh LOL He used to sneak sticks of butter when he was 5 and eat them in the backyard! (Kid has always been skinny! LOL)
We're all adults now...it's kind of sad in a way. When I think about us as kids riding in a van packed with our belongings, moving from Wisconsin to Utah. I was 9, Sean-Paul was 8 and Neal was 6. We had fun, we had an adventure a lot of kids don't have! Cross country travel in the back of a big van going to see "the mountains"...
In April that will be 20 years ago.

POP!
So...last night I was just falling asleep I heard a loud pop sound, paranoid Penny that I am, I decided to check it out. I tried to get Frank to help me check it out but he was comatose. LOL
I looked around our apartment and saw nothing...I was just getting back into bed when I heard it again! I looked around again...even brought my stun gun (yeah I own a HUGE stun gun! LOL)
Then this morning I heard another POP! sound...I sort of set it aside, I figured it was probably something from another apartment that I better get used to.
Flash forward to this afternoon. I go to the freezer for some ice...(ironically for a Pepsi)
At that moment I remembered putting some cans of Pepsi in the freezer so they would be cold for dinner last night...I do this about once a month.....

Emma Sings
This is a little video of Emma singing "Once Upon a Dream" from Sleeping Beauty. It's a little quiet, as she is a bit shy and this is a "soft" song for her..LOL
Ascii Frank...Or...Franscii!!!
If you don't know what "ASCII art" is you have failed at Nerdery 101...shame on you! I revoke the tape on your glasses and your pocket protector!
Oh, heck, I'll just tell you what it is via wikipedia. Clicky!
Anyway, a coworker of Frank's made him in ASCII art form! And here it is. (Click on it to get the full effect.)

BLARG
Turns out I have a sinus infection...I finally went to the Dr after being sick for an entire month. So hopefully I will feel well in a few days after the antibiotics start to kick some ass.

The Artist Currently Known as Emma
Emma learned how to draw smiley faces several months ago and as time has gone by the get more and more detailed, it's awesome. I think she can draw better than me. (That's not hard to do, all I can draw is a very basic cat head.)
Her favorite person to draw is her DaDa. Here are two pictures she drew of him. One was before our trip to MA and the other was on the plane ride home.
The first one is on our bedroom wall (still...LOL...I'm lazy) in sidewalk chalk. You can see Frank's crazy hair and glasses also notice his beard. It's my favorite drawing she's ever made, and I couldn't cut the dry wall out and keep it, I am sure my apartment manager wouldn't have liked that.
Another thing I noticed last night was that Emma draws stick people the way Amy did as a child. With the arms and legs coming right out of the head...I LOVE that! Emma has a little Amy in her! YAY! lol

Halloween 2007
Halloween started for us around 5pm. We all carved pumpkins, had a lot of fun digging the "guts" out of the pumpkin. Sam LOVED that term..GUTS. LOL What 8 year old boy wouldn't! We then went to the local church for a "trunk or treat" but by the time we got there everyone had left. So Emma went trick or treating with Grampa, they had a good time. We then had pizza and watched Halloween.
We had fun with Kira, we put her among pumpkins, but that wasn't good enough....
So we put her IN a pumpkin.
And here is the array of characters we had this year. Sam was a dead Ninja, complete with bloody throwing stars in his chest. Tyler was Bat Boy...very cute. And the cutest of all was Emma and Kira, as ladybug and bumblebee! Our little bugs.

4th Halloween for Emma
This sweet little video has a story behind it, so let me explain LOL
The other evening Emma brought me Frank's tie and belt and asked me to put them on her. So I did. She then took the baby monitor, placed it on top of Frank's guitar amplifier stand as if it were a microphone and podium. She explained to me that she was a teacher and she wanted me to be in her class. So I stood by her and watched and THIS is what she did! She gave me and animated speech that began by a dramatic clearing of her throat...So I got the camera and video taped her doing another speech, she did about a dozen speeches on various topics, from Sesame Street, to candy, to all of her cousins...LOL!
I LOVE HER IMAGINATION!!!
